I remember when I first came to the Internet to socialize and people were all VERY uptight about spelling and grammar. It was life and death to get this shit right on a dying video game websight. Fast forward today with all my experiences with work and shit, I see really that spelling and grammar did not matter nearly as much as Internet nerds made it sound. I PM and email every single fucking day with tons and tons of people and lemme tell yall, spelling and grammar almost does not matter.

People use your for you're all the time still and no one bats an eye unless they're purposely just tryna tease others. Spelling and grammar policemen/policewomen are just sad individuals, man.

This websites average user age is about 28-36 or so. The point being that fifteen years ago, most of us were in school where we had no choice but to use proper spelling and grammar. Also, the average user back then was a hyper aggressive teenager with little to no social skills (myself included), so I honestly think thats why the site has chilled out over the years.

Language only needs to be understandable to the population you are communicating with

Not everyone needs to be up to specific academic standards to use their language effectively

Yes we did. I dunno about yall but I grew up using tons of slangs but use them on the Internet, even on a dyying video game websight, and there would be mayhem.
