Would I let her? I couldn't stop her, it is her choice.

Its also my choice whether to be with her or not, and I would probably leave unless it was something health-related.

I would not allow my female to do that.

The fact that a guy would leave just because a girl decides trying to shave her head is one of the most pathetic things ever. Good riddance.

A boyfriend and partner should be supportive. It's up to them of they want to try something different. You wouldn't want your girlfriend to leave you just because you tried something different with your appearance that has bad end results. Not even saying they would look bad shaved.

It's definitely one of the most shallow things. They deserve better than you if you leave them over that.

"Let". You aren't the boss of them.

You're also under no obligation to stay with them if you're uncomfortable with the idea of her shaving her head as a fashion statement.

And this is what separates the boys from the men. It doesn't matter if you are uncomfortable. You can get used to it. It will grow back.

She should not have to conform to what you like. If she does it for health reasons or a boost in self confidence or any other reasons, it's about her, not you. You can either support her or get out of the picture so that she can find someone else who accepts her no matter what. Just as I am sure you'd want her to support you no matter what. She doesn't need some flaky insecure dude who is only interested in looks.

The problem is that not conforming to what other people want is a two way street. I don't have to conform to something that she likes. It's not healthy in a relationship for someone to endure something that they consider to be a massive turnoff in the spirit of supporting a partner whether it's a physical or personality turnoff.

Unlike you I also don't expect a partner to unconditionally like everything possible that I could do with my appearance. You have no right whatsoever to call someone childish or imply that you're a 'real man' while expecting a woman to like or automatically approve every way you look equally as if they don't have any agency or preferences of their own. If I were to grow a pink mohawk down to my knees and I had a romantic partner that couldn't handle it they'd have every right to leave me if they so choose. It wouldn't necessarily mean they only care about looks it means they are human beings with deal breakers just like everyone else.

Theres no let about it.

If my partner was making a decision I disagreed with, Id discuss that with them. You know, like an adult. Ultimately it would be her body, her choice.

It's childish because it's just a physical thing. It's something that can be changed. It does not make the person. It shouldnt matter.

And this is just cutting her hair. It's a choice. What would you do if it wasn't a choice and it was a medical thing? It should be about the person, not their appearance.

But you are right, you can choose to leave. She can find someone else who can accept her choices. No one says you have to like it. But you can accept it, and not leave just because of it. Real relationships go beyond hairstyles.

So that's up to you. You can leave. And she will find someone else better suited for her.

Depends on the length of the relationship, but I'd probably lean towards bailing if it was going to be an indefinite thing. If it's just like a one time thing for like supporting someone with cancer or something, then that'd be no issue.

Only if it's because she's already losing hair because of factors out of her control such as chemo or alopecia.
