I've always got the feeling he completes games through sheer dedication and persistence rather than skill. It's especially obvious when he's playing a game with puzzles or exploration. I like alot of his content, but I don't watch him if I want to see a game played well.

There's some degree of skill, don't get me wrong. He's on hard mode and doing far better than I was on normal.

But he's just so, so terrible at anything puzzle related. He has to hot an explosive pot behind a grate. Instead of looking around for an angle through the obvious hole in the grate, he's fired his entire arsenal at the grate itself.

And my god, it's like he thinks the Blades of Chaos are suddenly going to get a range upgrade because he tries them first whenever he has to hit a ranged target about 70% of the time.

Nice lol. I like those type of persistent gamers. My fave rs player is drumgun and he is known for being super duper inefficient. Had 3k days (yes days) for ingame time back in 2019 or something like that. He had to play far more hours per day than more efficient players to remain top rank . Was rank 1 at one point too but mainly because the previous rank 1 of this era quit the game right before he maxed out (for that era before more skills added) due to some disagreement with the devs iirc.

The sad part is that he is only rank 550 now xd. Mtx xp and double xp events really screwed the game up and I guess his slow no lifing methods just don't work too well now . still a legend to me tho tbh

i believe i first heard about him around 2010 on the runescape forums. being known as the guy that gained a tremendous amount of hunter xp in 1 month. slowly made his way to the top ranks. he sorta came out of nowhere all of a sudden because he first maxed (200m statted) a bunch of skills first while still not having all his 99s done (13m xp). once he got the final 99 he shot up in the ranks

aight some more insight into the madness. only the highlighted portion is important. so he doesn't sleep for several days while going for 200ms. takes 4 hour sleeps when he does tho.

keep in mind that he has been doing this since at least the year 2009. this forum post was in 2020.

what an absolute legend.

when he was rank 1 in year 2014 he had occured 2k days of in-game playtime majority was from the period 2009-2014 (that is when drumgun went into nolife mode). he did start in 2005 though but he only "casually" played at the time according to his old interview questions iirc. probably where his extra 200-300 days were obtained tho. for comparison zezima the rank 1 pre- 2008 only had like 1500 days of in-game playtime by 2015 and that guy has been playing since 2001.
