Like any game that wasn't a pure platformer had pretty terrible platforming.

But yet N64 has some of the greatest platformers of all time and they still hold up.

Because Mario was worked on a lot and set the standard of what to expect on N64. Then no one else put that amount of work in but still tried to ride the wave. I dunno. Im just guessing.
