Do you? Or would you have?

Could you trust one or both of your parents with a credit card that you, and only you, are responsible for? To use it only for X, Y, and Z and not go and run it up?

I don't trust anyone with my money, that has obviously such bad credit that requires me to front for them.

yea.

my dad (when he was alive) and my mom are the types to make sure that everything is good with me, and wouldn't do anything to steal from me/put me in a bad financial situation.

After my mom died, one of the things my brother and I found was that her credit score was in the toilet because she was $30,000 in debt on a credit card we didn't even know she had, so I would have to say that no, I wouldn't.

Lol no. Both max out their cards as soon as they can. Even when they get help to pay them off, they max them out again.

Dad, absolutely not. He totally would max it out and leave me stuck with the aftermath. He refused to pay back any money loaned to him. He claims that once it's in his hands, it's his, and I have no right to be paid back if he spends "his" money. He doesn't care how it affects others, bit what situation it leaves them with, as long as he can spend it he will. Especially if there's no consequence to him for doing so.

Mom... Maybe. I've trusted her with my bank card to buy food and pay bills. But that's just a temporary choice. Giving her one permanently would be riskier. I don't think she'd choose to use it, but dad often ours them in a financial bind and she might need to. Then once she starts it might not stop.

So, no, I don't think I would.

When they were alive, I'd 100% trust both of them.

My mom worked in finance her entire life. She was probably the most meticulous person I knew when it came to managing money.

Absolutely not, they're both super deep in credit card debt, and now that I'm living with them again, I see how they spend their money
