There's one close by that's thriving. The malls that were my childhood stomping ground however are just old lifeless husks.

Nah, my favorite one has been slowly dying for the past 20 years. Used to packed every weekend especially during holidays, used to have a banger Arcade above the Movie theater too.

Now it's gutted into a fragment of what it used to be. Only reason to go there is the movie theater

All of them are as far as I know. At least whenever I go they are really busy and not many empty spaces if any.

They look like they're doing well, but I don't know for sure. I'm in Los Angeles though, and have some really nice malls. The Grove was packed when I went earlier this year. As was Ontario Mills.

Braga Parque, Nova Arcada, and Minho Shopping are all doing fine.

Braga Shopping is struggling, as it's the oldest of the four... and lost it's movie theater.

The ones in Raleigh stay busy.

Though not the same we also have a strip mall off I-95 with everything in the whole wide world there.

Hell the plaza thing even has a Canadian flag to cozy up for those from Canada traveling down 95.

The shitty mall in my city that used to be the place where all the teenagers congregated and wasted their time did a huge remodel. Now there's no teens loitering around cause the place is extra fancy and all of the stores are very expensive.

But yes, of the 6 malls near where I live only one has shut down. Most of the others are thriving, but 2 of them seem like they've seen better days.

We had two. The one that opened in the 80s went the way of most of the others and started dwindling in the mid 00s, and was finally torn down a few years ago. The entire area around it dried up too, and looks like a ghost town.

The older one that opened in the 70s is still booming. It's at a major intersection, and that side of town blew up in jobs and housing as well. It's always packed any time I go, and has been doing well for 20 years.

But everyone misses the other one. It was always so much better.

The Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana is doing well. Attendance dropped after a shooting earlier this year which left two people dead (three including the shooter), but it has since bounced back.

The mall near me and the mall I actually go to (because it has the stores i want) both seem like they're fairly active.

Don't see too many closed store spaces, and every store seems to have a lot of people in them.

Food courts are always packed too

The one closest to me is Arizona Mills. It seems to do well but I haven't been there in over a year. I think I'll stop in sometime since I want a new pair of shades, and soap that smells like gummy bears with both those things being hard to shop online.

There's a small mall and a super mall an hour and 40 minutes away from me respectively. Both are owned by the same company and doing really well.

A dead mall 30 minutes away from me recently closed. The super mall played a part in killing it but it cannot account for the other mall's demise alone.

Malls in Canada tend to do a lot better because our options for online shopping are often limited.

There's a huge mall about 15 minutes from me that does really well. Basically the centerpiece of the city where people just go to hang out. Also a second smaller mall that isn't as active, but it's well managed so they get lots of cute specialty stores.

The rest of the malls in the cities are struggling to get full time tenants, but the box stores still do solid numbers.
