Ryuji has the best voice acting, and his introduction leaves a really strong impression. Looks like a total punk, but he's immediately willing to sacrifice himself to save a dude he just met, can't get much more bro than that.

Yosuke is best bro, Ryuji is great even if the game shits on him too much (and is even better in strikers), I like Junpei but.....yeah he's worst bro by far. Man even breaks the bro code

Yosuke does have some jealousy issues but overall was the most brolike. Always sided with MC even im the midst of all the waifus. Was a little whiny but nowhere near as whiny as junpei.

Ryoji had a good heart and was there for thr MC when nobody else was, but was even dumber than Junpei and honestly felt like he was better friends with Ann than the MC. Morgana or even Yusuke felt like a better bro than him.

So overall I would say Yosuke>Ryuji>Junpei

This. I get why people like Brosuke but he's a creeper perv. Not as bad as Teddie but didn't oppose some of his really bad antics either. :/ And Junpei isn't bad or anything, he just isn't nearly as memorable as Ryuji though.

Ryuji has a strong start but his annoying qualities just overtakes his character more and more as the game progresses.

in the 7th palace when they have to butter up some shadows to get their letters of introduction he throws a hissyfit and jeopardizes the plan eveytime one of them acts like a dick.

Junpei's character arc is one of the best of all time. Yosuke and Ryuji are basically the same by the end.

not a fair poll because every Persona game re-uses the same characters but writes them to be better. Junpei was when Persona/SMT was still in the experimental phrase. Ryuji was a combination of Junpei X Kanji which made him super hot.

Reasons why Yosuke sucks:

• Yuri Lowenthal
• He talks so fucking much and is the center of many cutscenes ONLY because Yu cannot talk, so he speaks for him.
• When he's not doing that, he's being an asshole and/or bullying Teddie or whining.
• He won't shut the fuck up.

to be fair, most of the Persona 4 cast was annoying because it was a during time when mean-spirited characters were popular in fiction. The group hardly ever felt like friends.

i feel each the new bro character is an improvement over the previous one.

Brosuke Hanamura is the best bro.

Ryuji is a good bro too, but he was annoyingly hot headed.

I feel Junpei has the best character development, Yosuke is the funniest, and Ryuji is the best voiced.

However, battle-wise, Yosuke is the most useful to me.

I haven't been able to play P3 yet. Between Yosuke and Ryuji, Ryuji 100% of the time. He feels like he earns the best bro thing so much more than Yosuke does. Plus he's much less of a creeper and a lot funnier to have around.

Junpei is kind of a dick. I don't remember a ton of his characterization but I do remember him blaming you for Ryoji which was fucked up.

Personally Yosuke > Ryuji but I do think it's close. Yosuke is annoying when he's trying to pick up the girls but I do like his pairing with Teddie and overall I like his chemistry with everyone. Ryuji is pretty cool when he's alone with Joker, but he bitches about having no street cred way too much and puts the PTs in danger. His spats with Morgana are obnoxious, and Morgana being a dick doesn't excuse Ryuji being a dick.

woah this is a hot take. The P4 cast is by far the closest and have the best chemistry.

I wish you could see Nanako as an adult in Persona 5.

What? Are you sure you're not thinking of P3? Yukari and Junpei have some frequent tension towards each other. Ken HATES Shinji. Yukari harbors a fuckton of resentment towards Aigis in The Answer. And there are likely other examples I'm forgetting.

P4's cast is just Everybody Loves Yu. P3 is the only realistic cast where everybody grows by the end. There's not really much that suggests Yosuke's mentality that his shadow revealed even really changed.

i am tempted to vote yosuke because theres a scene in that game nobody talks about where he tries to suggest everyone wear diapers and its funny af and makes me laugh every time

Edit: Another point towards Ryuji is that he is very much "bros before hoes", like when he BTFOs Ann in her social link. Yosuke is girl crazy and Junpei cares more about Chidori

I think Yosuke was originally written to be bisexual (especially with the unused voice lines for his social link), but for whatever reason it was dropped. My guess is story and dialogue was already pretty set in stone for the first part of the game so they couldn't really effectively change that part of the game.

Yukiko becomes party member in like the first 10% of the game, not exactly a good way of knowing a character.

For most of the game it seems like they tolerate each other at best. Chie steals from Yosuke, Teddie is a sexual predator hiding behind a layer of "innocence", Yosuke "I hope Kanji doesn't put it in our butts while we sleep" Hanamura is homophobic as hell.

Kanji, and Naoto are like the only genuinely good characters

Kanji and Naoto's palace themes are genuinely cool and actually tackle deeper issues,yeah.
