Kinda crazy that 90s can be considered old school at nearly 30 years now...

Anyway this was a pretty good movie with Kevin Kline, they don't make politically optimistic movies like this anymore regardless of how implausible some of it is and the ridiculousness. The "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" type movies no longer exist in this climate both politically and commercially.

But what I really wanted to comment on is how much stuff they made fun of/predicted before it actually happened. Like the president sleeping with one of his staff, this was years before the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Or someone under the president who's really pulling the strings, a la Dick Cheney and Bush.

I really like that film.

It's carried entirely by the great performance, KK is one of my favorite actors and he's great here, the supporting cast is perfect like a young ving rhames and frank langella, sigourney weaver is likable too, just all around fun movie I love movies like this I do miss them on some level

That's a movie I remember liking. Kevin Kline is wonderful.
