one of the things that has stood out to me as a common experience among my single female friends is that the main place they're meeting men is dating sites

but if they were meeting men through common interests instead, they could meet unavailable men with no single male friends!

Tell them to go, talk to people, get hobbies or go to the club.

Online dating is a train wreck.

Which is fair. But why reject when someone is giving you more insight on the person and then drag the conversation back to something a person didn't even say they disagree with. That's just refusing to advance a conversation into something deeper. I was just adding context to her character. Tbf, he also mentioned she could be a grifter or what not. So, he's actually taking in the nee information while still acting like we're at some disagreement >_>. I don't think Cuttin is dumb or lacking common sense or anything. Im just not sure why it would be assume I can't do that whole actually knowing more about the person as well and their intentions. You would think that would be a plus of insight instead of something to argue against

I guess for me, topics like this I interpret differently.

I interpret the point of this topic as Listen to this quote, and discuss.

So when a few of posts are this:

Ah. CE has found their woman against women to justify their shallow ways. I knew it was only time until you guys stumbled upon her.

I get annoyed. Because none of these posts are productive. None of these posts address the point made. None of these posts add any context to anything. Because even if all of these opinions or claims are true, the topic of discussion is not be refuted.

I think youre a great poster, but I dont even know your stance on what she said. I can infer it since you said shallow people flock to her, but you havent contributed to the discussion I thought this topic is about.

Its especially irksome because good posters like Gladius reveal stuff like this:

So I cant even trust that yall are being objective in your analysis. So I personally dont think the person giving the message will ever be relevant in a topic like this.

Animals need good homes, and no one can deny that cats are living well when these older ladies take many of them in.

Fair enough. I guess I didn't have to generalize CE. You're right, that doesn't add anything. It was just something I had in the back of my mind when I first seen her talked about and knew she'd eventually pop up here. When she popped up here being praised, it felt like it spoke for CE to me in the moment.

So yeah Andrew Tate is the kind of guy who can say anything he wants to a womans face and then will still sleep with him, he owns a yacht after all.

It's reflected in a patently nonsensical statement like "No one wants women in their 40s and 50s".
You being able to find a man, or 10 men, or 10,000 who will date women that old doesn't actually make it untrue, though. It's a generalization that's obviously pretty accurate. There's a reason the fear exists in the first place, remember. See post 21

Have you seen Candyman (the original and the recent reboot)?

The woman who plays the Candyman's mom is in both of them but they were filmed like 30 years apart. Literally looks almost exactly the same in both films. I was blown away, my first thought was "how'd they find someone who looks so much like the first one's actress?" lol

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

You probably don't remember what you had for dinner three nights ago, this argument is just dumb. It can be extended to anything past your current relationship, those certainly aren't remembered as well as what you did with your s/o yesterday. Weak sauce

Also I'd like to point out two problems with your guys' argument
  1. The data here has a problem with recency bias in the way you're using it. Couples who are currently together (what this data shows) will of course have mostly met via the current most popular avenue, that's why this data isn't useful for your argument. Those couples that are still together of course met more recently than they met with their previous partners so the most trendy way of getting together is obviously going to be overrepresented here.
  2. It doesn't even show what you're claiming, only 39% of them met through online according to that data. That leaves most people having met not online, so most peoples' dating experience is literally not from online based on this info. lol

This really doesn't mean anything though, lives aren't measured in time, but in moments. Being generous to you and assuming someone only has opportunity & desire to date for 5 years out of their school career (8th-12th grades, no college), that's 5 years of a LOT of interactions with other people for most kids. A lot of people here (ironically this applies even moreso to online daters) can go MONTHS not having as many interactions with other people as they had in a week of school. It's important to remember the difference in interaction density. Personally, I often go a good month not talking to anyone outside of family at length, that was just not a thing in school at all

Not every man or woman wants to have children or deal with them. Rightfully so, given that having children ruins your freedom and you have to completely change how you live, and not everybody finds appeal in that. So lots of people don't care about "baring children" at all. This is 2022. Also, asexual people and gay/bi/lesbian people exist.

I like this gimmick though, the pigeon playing chess style of argumentation where you shit all over the place and then strut around as if you won, kek I kinda want to keep this going just to see more of that.

I like how the pew research you posted also doesn't in any way prove your claim that most dating experience comes from online dating, lmao why do you keep throwing out irrelevant data points?
Also you never addressed my point that whatshisface's data literally shows most dating experience is not from online dating

It does not.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

No I want you to address the fact that his study shows literally less than 40% of couples met online. Further stressing your point's solidity, that's only current couples. Online dating is relatively new, past experience for most people will be an even lower number than that the further back you go since it's more popular now than ever. No matter how you slice it, online dating isn't more ubiquitous than offline.

Yeah if you count anything involving meeting someone online as online "dating" I'd believe that the majority of people with dating experience have some with online dating. I was thinking more along the lines of actual dating sites but if social media counts as well then I'd believe it. Anyway I agree online dating sucks but then so does all dating
