Companies switching over to electric fleets of vehicles.

For the record. Theft is bad. Damaging property of others is bad. I am not condoning theft, and I support those caught in the act being glued to the bottom of the car they're vandalizing before its next trip.

I just find it hilarious that THIS is what ended up being the reason for the switch to be made.

Losing a parking lot full of cats overnight suddenly makes electric cars cost-efficient.

I've had mine stolen. $800 to fix it. So yeah probably cheaper.

They shouldn't value my property more than their life. And if you let it happen more than once then you're marked as an easy target and will continue to be marked for shit like this and worse. Few things are more likely to wind up ending violently than being viewed as a money dispenser in a shitty neighborhood.

So the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and there are more poor people ever than before.

car insurance companies don't help with catalytic converter problems.
they take money. but never offer anything in return

they keep someone from running afoul of the law when cops stop people and they lack insurance.

one time someone broke into the house i was moving from. they ended up stealing a leather jacket and a really old bibble that was in a suitcase plus some cabinets.

almost had my own video games stolen too if i wasn't as stubborn to get them out.

It's been a massive problem in the last 3 years or so. Thieves discovered that the metals used in catalytic convertors made them valuable to sell for scrap (between $300 and $1500 each). There are videos online showing thieves get under the car and cut off the cat in just a few minutes. So quick and easy money for them.

It's gotten so bad that there's a nationwide shortage and some car models have to wait months to get a replacement. And a lot of people end up having to pay thousands to get it all fixed.
