That's the way it is at most businesses now. Appointments are just so the staff has a baseline idea of how many people to expect. Appointment to get your haircut? Better hope there's no walk-ins 30 minutes before you get there. Oil change or tire rotation? Better hope nobody else wants the same thing done and can get there ahead of you. Tax prep? Hope there's nooooo walk-ins. Sometimes, an appointment doesn't even mean that you'll get the thing you made the appointment for. I recently made an appointment for a vaccine - weeks in advance - and when I arrived I was told that they didn't even have it in stock. --- Those who live are those who fight. ...
