This better than BL2's DLC or just okay?

Just okay

I enjoyed it. There was a nice steady progression system, with your character unlocking something new after pretty much every main story mission, so it kept things fresh. They also re-worked the grenade system into "spells", converting the most unique ones from the previous games and adding dozens more. I only did a single playthrough, but being able to play a character who had access to two spell slots made it so I could gravity-pull enemies into massive AOE attacks at a near-instant cooldown.

The story was also a massive improvement over BL3

I'll probably get this then. I want just for backlog purposes at the moment

Tiny Tina's Wonderland is a full Borderlands game, not DLC.

It's also really good.

Different game. Tiny Tina: Assault on Dragon Keep was the BL2 DLC. Tiny Tina's Wonderland is the standalone spin-off game.

Is it an FPS like borderlands? I used to play those games a ton but haven't for a couple years.

I guess one could say it is but I have only watched introductory videos

It's a fun game if you ignore the random encounters. The story has some BEAUTIFUL cutscenes. I absolutely loved Mr. Torgue's missile scene. Some of the maps look phenomenal but don't get used to their full potential because you'll usually be pigeonholed into one tiny area of the massive map. The classes are interesting.

I don't recommend going for ascendant weapons or whatever the fuck it was called because it isn't worth it.

Play the game through once, don't bother with any DLC.

If you like DND the references to it are great.

As a long time Borderlands fan I thought it was pretty ass.

The dialogue is cringe and the endgame grind is extremely monotonous and unimpressive

I thought the campaign was a bit of a slough but the end game and fucking with the builds to be pretty fun for awhile.

Well, the DLC is bad, but the core game should be fun enough... As others said, there isn't much end game other than an arena mode(which most of the DLC ties into). If you like Borderlands and D&D references and the like it should be fun.

Fun game but it was super disappointing that melee weapons werent utilized well. I was thinking elder scrolls style melee combat when they announced the game and said melee weapons were being upgraded. What we got is ok but not nearly as cool.

That's the entire series imo. Even the one's people claim have good story. How can you even pick up on the story while dealing with constant nails on a chalkboard during dialogue?
