No, the money for the stadium was there. He just wanted more. Oakland was willing to put up 250 million. Mind you, *we're still paying* for all the work done on the coliseum when they came back to Oakland. In fact, Alameda County was willing to give them the property that the coliseum sits on! All they had to do is build their own stadium. Vegas came along and offered them more money. It's also should be noted that a Standford economic professor wrote a story saying that Vegas was getting a bad deal. Plus Al Davis never wanted to leave Oakland, and felt that Vegas would be a bad place for NFL team. He just wanted more. Oakland was willing to put up 250 million. Mind you, we're still paying for all the work done on the coliseum when they came back to Oakland. In fact, Alameda County was willing to give them the property that the coliseum sits on! All they had to do is build their own stadium. Vegas came along and offered them more money. It's also should be noted that a Standford economic professor wrote a story saying that Vegas was getting a bad deal.
