I got COVID again and have to be off work so Im going to watch a bunch of movies, Ill take recommendations too

i watched

Pontypool - fucking great, great concept, great execution, great actors

Terrifier 2 - way better than the first one in my opinion, had more character and Art the clown was funnier throughout the non murder scenes, also Chris Jericho is in the credit scene

The Descent 2 - it was passable until the stupid ending that made 0 sense, I also learned that the first movie ahas two different endings

in putting on The Keep (1983) right now because its based off of the first book of an extremely good book series from an author called f Paul wilson

I still need to watch Terrifier 1 and 2, they seem really interesting.

I've been on a Slasher kick lately; The Slumber Party Massacre and Slumber Party Massacre 2 are both fun, cheesy 80s ones that I really enjoyed.

Barbarian was solid, it's on HBO MAx rn.

IDK if it's out on streaming anywhere yet, but Smile was a surprisingly good one from this year as well.

I watched Barbarian with the gf recently and loved it, Ive heard smile was terrible from everyone I know but still plan to watch it

Okay time to finish The Keep, and then move on to find something else

also, if you have Netflix, 1899 (from the creators of Dark) is coming out tomorrow.

Dark is also really good, IMO, if you haven't seen it yet.

I have seen dark but I have not seen synchronic yet, endless and resolution jumped up to GOATED status for me when I discovered them

A Dark Song is one from recent times that really stood out as well

I liked Smile a lot. It's very much "jump scare horror", but it knows how to use those jump scares well IMO.

I also took a very different message from the film than I think a lot of people did, so there's also that.

Recommending The Void & Pandorum

Watch all 4 Hatchet movies! They're all pretty great (except I haven't seen the last one yet. Gonna read the book first(No, not the one from middle school.).)

I'd also recommend Kill List (probably my favorite horror/thriller), Triangle, and As Above, So Below.

I sometimes also see it classified as horror, and idk, but either way - Upgrade.

Broadcast signal intrusion is great, and A Dark Song is among my favorite finds

nice to have all the streaming services, just wait a few weeks and it goes from theater to streaming
passed on the new Halloween though, never kept up with those

Colour Out of Space w/ Nic Cage was actually pretty good.
