Is this even true? They may get enough states to propose a Constitutional Amendment but thats it. It would never be ratified. So who actually wants to increase the voting age?

ever hear of reverse psychology, genius? if republicans strip away peoples rights to vote, that will make those people want to vote for them more

Conservative B: Maybe we can try pushing for policies they actually like?
Conservative C: Fuck that, just make it so they can't vote

Conservatives: We love the constitution! until it doesn't benefit us anymore

It's not a nonsense strategy as long as they do better among the general population than among the youngest voters, but it is still a garbage strategy. It's like baling a leak you can't keep up with, but moreover a lot of them should remember why they fought to lower it in the first place. Or has this idea even caught on outside the right-wing media throwing shit noodles at the wall to see what sticks with the powers that be?

Because they don't need to completely stop young people from voting, just like, one more time so that republicans can win and end the concept of voting altogether. By the time those 18 year olds reach 21 it'll be illegal to not vote republican.

Its a little surprising conservatives are just being outright with it, but eh, makes it easier to point out.

Their (flawed) thinking is Everyone becomes a conservative at 40 once they buy a house and have kids.

Because thats when they became conservative.

The Boomers were literally The Generation that got the voting age lowered.
~But it suited them at the time.

TBH, Though not all Boomers are Conservatives.

65 and over voted +11 Republican in the midterms.

Enough of them are Conservative that we're 15 years away from the Republican Party all but disappearing if they dont adjust their narrative

there's a fairly common misconception that people become more conservative as they age.

there is a small amount of truth to it -- older people do tend to be more conservative -- but it's a matter of survivor bias more than anything else. that is; people with more money tend to be more conservative because it is in their self-interest. people with more money also tend to be older, because people with less money tend to die younger.

Conservatives started the whole snowflake insult and yet now they are the biggest snowflakes of all. Its funny to call them out on it because there's literally zero retort. A lot of times you'll really open their eyes to their childish behaviour. Tell them to stop getting offended for maximum effectiveness.

Oh, I realize that. And I can't wait until they time out.
I think you and I both having waiting for that moment our whole lives.
But I do like to pay homage to the few Boomers who had the right ideas and never sold out completely.

Again, 60+ year olds won't be around for 30+ years mostly.

Zoomers will.

Add a voting limit of 60 and lower voting age to 16. That's my proposal. Get the cryptkeepers out of office at 60 too.
