It makes total sense when you think about it.

Typically, people 30 and under don't have a lot of savings and property, so inflation and housing prices aren't a real issue for them.

So they gravitate towards social issues. Abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. And the last thing you do to the youth is tell them they can't do something. SO they rallied against candidates that were trying to take away reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights.

And it fucking worked.

Younger Millennials and older Gen Z'ers are more content with living at home into their 30's (partially because of financials) more than ever before.

The stigma of "out of the house and on your own by 21" has been removed. People are getting married and having children at older ages than they ever had, if they even get married at all.

Yes. Financials are a factor to all generations, but it was more of a deciding factor in older generation than younger ones.

And it's fairly obvious, by exit poll numbers showing the extreme support Democrats got from younger voters, that social issues are more a deciding factor than financial ones, as more Democrats ran on protecting them as opposed to finding financial solutions to current problems.

Looking around the conservative space I don't see that much introspection either. There's hardly any sense of what the Republican strategy should be doing to win the youth vote in the future. Moreso I just see people grumbling that the youth has been brainwashed by liberal education and liberal social media and that mail-in voting has unfortunately helped more people vote which reversed the usual trend of lower turn-out among young people. The sentiment is less about winning back the youth and more about what can be done to suppress it.
