Looking for food spots, and which tourist attractions are worth it and which are not.

Smithsonian museums, they are all great. Just go to whichever ones suit your interests. You should allow at least 3 hours per museum.

Visit the memorials on the west side of the mall, and if you have time, the Jefferson memorial on the tidal basin is great, too.

National Holocaust Memorial is good. Skip the spy museum unless you really have nothing better to do.

If you go to the Library of Congress, skip the guided tour. The National Archives are neat but overrated in my opinion. The Kennedy Center is worth visiting even if you aren't going to see a show.

Washington Monument I would not go out of my way for, but it's fine.

If you're interested in touring the US Capitol, it might not be too late to reach out to your representative and see if they can arrange a tour. Not sure.

Good to know, and didn't know about booking yours will my rep. Looks like you need to do it three weeks in advance.

I'm sure I'll be back someday, last minute opportunity came up so I'm going.
