It seems that people just wanted another run of the mill Halloween sequel with Michael killing a bunch of people (which is fair because that's how it was marketed)

But I honestly enjoyed a more subtle, contemplative ending to the trilogy. I like the idea of evil taking shape into another form. I think (like Kills) it's a very solid movie with excellent moments but hindered by some admittedly major flaws.

Speaking as someone who doesnt really care that much for Michael meyers as a character, it was an incredibly stupid idea. The first two movies are sequential and back to back in their setting, and the second one immensely raises the tension and stakes whether you liked it or not. The third then completely throws that out the window and zooms ahead several years to tell a strange poorly concocted interpersonal drama that has very little to do with the first two movies plots. They get like 90% of the way through the movie then remembers people want a conclusion to the Michael stuff so they kill the Corey story stone dead and hamfistedly shove in a final confrontation

Its such a bizarre idea to try to get all contemplative and experimental in the final act of a very straightforward story, but I could forgive it if I found any of the Corey shit interesting. I dont though, which is the final nail in the coffin. If DGG wanted to tell a story where Michael is like a weird metaphysical idea of fear that corrupts peoples lives he shouldnt have made two straightforward slasher movies to preface it

People will look back at this masterpiece and see the depth to Corey's character.

Its not a bad film, its just a weird Halloween film and an even weirder way to end a trilogy.

I enjoyed the movie. Idk why it gets much hate.

Michael kinda ran his course and his fight at the end was dumb but I enjoyed Corey as a character.

It should have ended with him killing Michael in the sewer and then trying to kill the main lady

Just think. Now you're all set to hunt and kill to your heart's content.

They should have just had michael die from covid in the hospital.

He caught it at the end of kills when his mask got taken off and he got beat down.

No, its actually a pretty good movie. Someone on the movies board put it into better words than I could, their analysis really made me like the movie a lot more:

The idea of the trilogy, particularly Kills and Ends, exploring the impact Michael has had on Laurie and her family, the people and the town of Haddonfield was a good angle to take. They really examine that here with Michael's evil literally poisoning the town from below as he lives in the sewers. Haddonfield has become a nasty place, people are terrible to eachother, there's a pervasive sense of fear and dread with everyone looking for the boogeyman to blame. This ultimately manifeste in Corey, who the town turns into its own monster. It's a good direction, after Kills took the town becoming the monster approach. Demistifying Michael at the end both for the tiwn and the audience was a good way to put him to rest and tell everyone to move on.

The way they had Michael literally poisoning the town from the sewer was such a fantastic touch, thats probably my favorite part.

Some parts were interesting, but I found the movie itself to be pretty bad

It's a somewhat sloppy movie, but I'll be honest. When I was first watching the trailers, I was turned off by the ridiculousness of Michael doing a third round of killings. After Kills, you'd think the military would have gotten involved.

It was kind of to echo how three movies of this guy just going on a massacre was really dumb at this point.

So the homeless Michael angle was pretty nice to see. And of course, the ending was almost exactly what I wanted from it. Laurie fucking his shit up and them finally destroying the body. The whole town doing it just made it better.

I will admit however...
The final act was the weakest part of the movie.
It felt rushed and they honestly did Corey dirty. I was completely invested in Corey at that point and the way he just kills himself is anticlimactic. It's like they realised they only had 5 minutes of screen time and they had to cram Laurie VS mike in so they rushed everything.

The soundtrack funking slaps too. Listen to this

Corey actually becoming the Shape at the junkyard is one of my favourite moments of the trilogy.

It's a lot like Jason Goes to Hell in that it would be okay as an original horror film, but it's a poor interpretation of the series in question and a bad film to go out on.
