I can see it now: after Repubs sweep, everyone, many Dems included, will say the democrats messaging is bad! they didnt campaign the right way! instead of placing blame on gerrymandering or voter suppression. Ive lost all faith in the country getting better, not without some sort of very ugly and bloody revolution.

It's numerous factors at play, and it wouldn't be telling the whole story to ignore any one of them.

Voter suppression and gerrymandering is definitely one of the bigger problems. But I also think years of Democrats falling into complacency as Republicans actively attacked our facade of a democracy has made people apathetic.

You seem very agitated.

If you think this country will be fixed by policy alone, I simply have to say I disagree with you. Its going to go the way of every fascist country of the past; a descent into fascism under the guise of we can fix this with policy!, followed by some years of real evil fascism, followed, probably, by a war or revolution that combats it. This topic is merely to say that its not going to get better before it gets worse. Probably much worse.

And, in fact, its required to get worse for revolution to work, because any attempt at such at this point will garner not nearly enough support to actually work.
