I completely get why you wouldn't want to bring a new child into this world. But there are plenty of people out there who need a good loving home. In this crazy depressing world you can still bring about a net positive change in the happiness but helping someone who is already born into it.

That doesnt solve my problem of not having enough money / time to raise a child and my anxiety issues (that having a child would cause to skyrocket)

They just feel compelled to feel like they need to give a reason for why they don't want kids, when not wanting kids should be an acceptable reason in and of itself.

There's always been arguments for the world being too shitty to raise more kids in it.

A lot of people would do well to stay away from parenthood altogether. Whether biological or adopted.

Yeah. Some people just aren't cut out for it. The sensible ones are the ones who know their limitations.

Hanging out with Haruka in the Yakuza games makes me want to adopt an intellectually precocious asian daughter >_> Maybe even open up an orphanage on the beach with like 8 other kids! What could go wrong?

this doesn't solve my problem of not liking children or anything involved with raising them, and wanting absolutely nothing to do with them, so i refuse to have a child no matter what... ideally i want a hysterectomy and to just spend my life with my partner and my pets

This is partly why I created the topic to be honest. If you don't want kids at all no - issues with that whatsover. But don't use the climate change argument as an excuse if the reality if you just can't be bothered.

Apparently adopting costs a lot of money not to mention the time it would take and the scrutiny you and your partner would receive. Seems not worth it at all unless you are in a situation where natural childbirth is impossible

I doubt many CEmen would even qualify to adopt

They just don't want kids but feel they need to have a reason to support that

I don't want kids for many other reasons as well, including the fact that I recognize I do not have the patience and tolerance necessary for it

This is a rebuttal to the argument about not wanting to bring a child into the world for them to suffer rather than about their climate impact of having a kid.

I feel like our modern society is breeding people who, ironically, are not fit to be parents.

i already made my mind up ages ago, that if i *were* to ever want a kid, I'd adopt.
