A Minnesota woman was gunned down outside her workplace for repeatedly rejecting a coworkers relentless advances. Nicole Hammond, 28, died in the parking lot of her St. Cloud workplace on Oct. 24 after coworker Jordan Carpenter shot her in the neck, police said. Carpenter, 36, had fled the scene but was tracked down about three hours later hiding in a home in nearby Sauk Rapids, according to a statement by St. Cloud Police. The suspect was in possession of a handgun and was arrested on murder charges. The woman had texted the creepy coworker one day before her slaying and insisted that she did not want to be touched or manipulated by him, a probable cause statement obtained by the Kansas City Star revealed. Hammond had repeatedly rejected Carpenters romantic advances in the month leading up to the violent murder, police said, asking him not to make things uncomfortable at work. Police found a text Hammond sent to a friend saying Carpenter was mad at her.

The harassment was evident among other coworkers, who said Carpenter has a bad temper, according to the media outlet. The alleged killer admitted to officers he was upset about Hammonds rejection the night before her death. However, the ongoing harassment was never reported to their employer, Dubow Textile Inc. CEO Rob Dubow told Fox 9. Unfortunately, we had no idea, said Dubow. Any time there is anything that requires our intervention we step in. But in this case, we had no indication that there was anything awry. Carpenter did not admit to the slaying, according to the probable cause statement, but claims he had been walking toward Hammonds car when he heard the gunshot. The alleged killer told cops he ran away from the scene because he was was too traumatized after seeing his love interests body. He didnt render aid, go to work, nor did he call 9-1-1, police said.

That is fucked up. Women should be able to reject any man without the fear of being killed for it.

no fucking shit. the point is this happens to women drastically more than it happens to men. all across the entire planet. and it doesn't just mean killing. it means assault, stalking, etc.

This makes me think, this sort of thing is why I think ghosting is ok. There's a good chance someone's rejection will turn into an actual murder. Men like this are why it's necessary. Understand that people are just trying to protect themselves, being ghosted might hurt but it's not a slight against you. Just look at all the "nice guys" who do a 180 when rejected. I hope this poor girl gets justice.

This, not to mention she must have cared about the guy a little to not rat out his shitty inappropriate behavior at work. The bastard was a selfish unappreciative fuck and still shot her anyway. Life without parole is what he deserves at the very least. Also shame on the CEO and cops for acting like she needed to tell her employer about this. It can be embarrassing and what if he is one of the favorites? It could result in further workplace harrassment or worse.
