I mean yea, but we should still try to move away from body shaming in general, I think. I even find myself doing it at times. It's not great, especially not when there are legit criticisms to level

I think turnabout is fair play with words. If a person uses appearances to insult another, then using those same standards against them is more of a mechanism for pointing out hypocrisy versus actually believing in that standard.

EDIT: What I mean to say is that temporarily adopting someone's argument to show how it leads to hypocrisy or contradiction is a common and valid debate tactic.
