Looking for another SciFi show now that Game of Thrones is over but i heard lots of girls like Supernatural which seems bad.

I'm not interested in a dating show lol.

The first five seasons are legitimately good television. After that you can stop watching but there are still some high points sprinkled in.

Watch it, I'm a 35 year old male that watched it since S1 was airing, and it'sm my favorite show.

It pretty much works for any audience.

S1-5 is the best part of the show. Fantastic TV.

After that it's still ok to good to great. The chemistry between the mains really carries it.

1st season is fairly Monster of the Week but slowly drip feeds plot. Then it goes wild. 1st season is also a bit more horror/dark and then the mood lightens a bit.

Post season 5. Yeah it gets bad and a bit girly.

you wouldnt regret watching the first 5 seasons though. For a complete ending just cut the last episode short about 10 seconds.

Thats one of those things that the online fandom turned me away from ever trying even though paranormal monster of the week stuff is generally up my alley

It's kind of weird because the general aesthetic of the show is not one that generally matches what you expect from tumblr, but the two (and later three) leads are attractive enough that it attracted that crowd anyway

It's great at the start.

The show is good, with the first 5 seasons being the best.

The two leads are brothers and are only paired up by the female fans because they are good looking. The same sick phenomenon happened with the sisters from Frozen. Don't let that put you off the show however.

It does get kinda dark the more you go on. But everything is so low stakes because death is a slap on the wrist in the series.

Its less like game of thrones and more like buffy the vampire slayer if it was written by someone from the midwest

It's like X-files in that it does get some fans of wanting to see romance between the attractive lead actors, but that's not what the creators were really going for, even if they relent to fan service on occasion.

um yikes this comes off as pretty sexist honestly? just because lots of girls like it doesn't make it about dating, that's an icky assumption. like please stop assuming stuff like that just because a lot of the audience is female, it comes off as you think that's all we're interested in...

In the fandom's defense, if there were ever two non-GoT siblings that were fucking each other, Sam and Dean would be the ones. They're unhealthily codependent.

There's virtually no romance in the show.

I wouldn't say the monsters are all that impressive though, it's a WB/CW show. The budget gives you people with funny eyes or an occasionally fucked up forehead.

There really isnt any high stakes in the show

Its a great show. The only major issue is each season is 20+ episodes and theyre all a hour each. They could have made them a lot shorter to tell a greater story. Its amazing how the show was able to provide that much content every year though.

After my wife liked stranger things Im hoping I can get her to watch supernatural with me. I like it a lot. It's probably got a lean (maybe 65%) towards traditionally girl audiences, but it's got some sweet lore and fun monsters and stuff. I see why most lost interest after season 5 but I enjoyed almost all of it.

The first 4 seasons are amazing. I'd skip most of the other stuff and just watch the episodes with Crowley in it. He is probably the best character in the series.

Fair warning, it is rather mid 00s, in a lot of ways. The approach that the show has towards women can be problematic at times and you might even occasionally get the word gay used as a derogatory.
