video, do you think she should have removed it? It was that part where she was on the scale and it said "fat"

If she was forced to remove it, I don't agree.

But I'm guessing she saw the complaints, agreed with their arguments, and removed it, and I DO agree with that.

that's a shame, she felt the need to bow to the screeching harpies on Twitter who insisted that their body image issues are more legitimate than hers because she's not a hambeast

Yeah, I don't know about this. She had body image problems in the past, and it's trying to show what someone who feels like that sees anytime they check their weight. It wasn't meant to be fatphobic

While I agree that sometimes it's just better to compromise and submit if the situation calls for it, this is not one of those times.

What bugs me is that it was pretty obviously not a dig at fat people but a swipe at societal conventions that promote unrealistic beauty standards and body shaming which could result in ED/body image issues (literally what happened to her), something that fat activists have made a big part of their movement. You almost can't got to an FA page without seeing them suggest ED associated with being underweight is a much more prevalent and pressing issue than the obesity epidemic.

Much of their message circles back to deconstructing and dismantling those conventions, which is the exact thing Swift did in her video but from the other end of the body size spectrum. It's silly.

This. It was obvious what the message was.

Also why are "fat activists" a thing
