In my country it works with many banks as long as they provide mobile apps (most banks do to the point of being obnoxious) or 3rd party paying method. No need for cash or card. I have been using it to pay for grocery, vets, to street food hawkers. It makes bill splitting so convenient as well. --- "Average Joe" is a trolling term since it's completely an opinion.
