.....and I am elated if we do this. 3 days off a week? Great pay? Given all my company does, offers and aims to do, I don't even feel like I work for a US company anymore. I feel like I work for like, a company in Norway or something. I mean shit, I have a 6 week sabbatical I'll be earning in less than a year and I already get 4 weeks off a year.

Is this what it feels like to have an employer who understands employee wants and needs? I never knew this kind of place existed before 2019 when I was hired. The CEO has brought people all over the world in other branches of our company to meet, and he would share drinks, rent out food trucks and so much for all of us.

I go from a shit job at Home Depot to something better but with shit management. All I do is go to school, get a degree in International Relations and bam. I am even almost the bottom of the pole too.

....And now my supervisor is proposing that almost unheard-of 4 day work week. Man, I never want to leave this company.

Depending on the type of work it is, 4 days/10 hour shifts may not be too bad.

It's part call center, part metric work. I assist maintaining data software and report problems for programs being used by clinical trials.

I think 10 hour workdays are perfectly fine by me. That's two more hours. I already work from home. All the extra 2 hours would do would push me to start earlier, and get a start on my metrics earlier so I can keep up with them without having them pile up for another two hours.

4 day work week is superior in every way to 5 day week.

  • Less time spent commuting
  • Meetings eat up proportionally less of your day
  • Everyone gets bigger weekends which enhances the quality of the free time
  • You skip over rush hour traffic for suckaz who haven't yet migrated to 4 day work weeks

Yeah. It would make so many people happier. I dunno when we would be doing it, but there's talks and lots seem hyped about it. I assume it would probably be start of the new year if I had to fathom a guess.

Tell me about it. An extra 2 hours to my days is nothing, but an extra day off is everything.
