Lets be honest, we've all been through this:

We want to find a board (i.e. "Actual Poll of the Day", for discussion on the gamefaqs main page poll). We look at the main boards list, it isn't there, because it isn't a top-5 in it's category. Then we start clicking categories, only to not find it. Eventually, we just google search "Gamefaqs actual poll of the day board", and get the link. Thus, taking traffic away from gamefaqs. Even if the majority come back (if they find what they want), directing them offsite to begin with is poor form.

Realistically, GameFAQs could run just the same as it does now, but on 50 boards. Not 15,000.

I feel like social boards could probably be condensed but the individual game boards are honestly a great idea and they're already merged across platforms.

Realistically, for 95% -- could they not be consolidated into gamefaqs Q&A? Yeah, you lose the community. I'm not saying kill the community, but have 50 more general boards to consolidate people.

Ive said for the last 15 years thatthere should just be 1 "GameFAQs Social" board.

Allen himself told me that it would never happen because it would piss off "board factions".

Sounds like a cop out to me, but this sites boards are deader than shit and its only getting worse.

Maybe some could be consolidated. Like, I'm not sure having boards for every single Street Fighter game helps build a community. I think in many cases you could probably just have a "Street Fighter" board in which people can just ask questions across the whole series.

It wouldn't be appropriate for every franchise though.

People use boards besides CE, (Sports) Board, and new game boards?
