In Doom Eternal you essentially do just that. No flaming swords though.

What the hell, really? I got through maybe 70% or so of Doom Eternal before I stopped playing. Maybe I should go finish it...

Honestly Id should focus on Hexen and Quake and let Doom and Wolfenstein rest for a bit.

I think I'm the only one who liked The New Colossus.

Youngblood was absolute shit.

Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal need as much mod support as the originals got.

Yeah there's a place that is supposed to be kind of analogous to heaven, I think, in DOOM Eternal (though it's one of my least-favorite aesthetically and the music makes me feel like I'm in Hell more than any other mission). But the creatures I guess you'd call "angels" look weird AF.

I mean, Id doesn't do the new Wolfenstein games. MachineGames does. They just borrow Id's engine for it.
With that said, I'm still patiently waiting for Wolfenstein: The New [Whatever the next one will be called]. Hopefully, after they're done with their Indiana Jones game.

I didn't get the hate for it. I loved The New Colossus. I'm pretty huge fan of MachineGame's approach to the newer Wolf games. It's a nice companion to the new Doom games in that they're both fun FPS games that plays in their own unique, fun way.
That, and I feel like there isn't enough good single player, story-driven FPS games, and that's a big reason why they appeal to me so much.

And yeah, Young blood was really rough, and it was absolutely dreadful to play solo (and online sometimes, because people are braindead) when it first came out. Like I said, I love the games because of how story focused they were and this was the most disappointing aspect about YB to me. Outside of a handful of cutscenes, it's not story-driven at all. Felt more like diet Destiny.

I came back to it sometime later when they patched it all up, and despite all of its cons and repetitiveness, the gameplay was fun enough that I finally got around to finishing it. That game should have been so much better.

Activision means a Hexen remake will not happen.
