Unlike DS1 DS2 is actually a complete game.

while it's not my favorite in the series, I really did enjoy DS2.

I also appreciated how it at least tried to do something new with new game (some bosses having extra enemies).

I tried them starting at Demon Souls and it didn't click until I played DS2 with an adderall addiction.

I played 150 hours of Elden Ring this year without adderall tho. I just needed that focus to jumpstart my love for my favorite franchise I guess

I enjoy the game mostly for its writing. I replay it every year or so and i just don't think the gameplay has much to offer. It doesn't have any particularly good bosses imo. Most of the drip stinks. I'm not into any of the levels. It just doesn't jive with me. I do love it, though

2 is the best Souls. ER is better but

ya know what 2 does extremely well? the dread of the end. in dark 3 its like post post apocalypse, everythings gone and theres basically no hope for the world. in 2 there isnt exactly hope, but people are hanging on even though they all know how fucked its gonna get. i like that, makes the game spooky

Enemy placement in some sections is absolute horseshit set up for gank fest. Hated the game.

I always liked the game, and I played 3 different versions of it

DS2 OG at launch
DS2 OG post endgame nerfs and faith rebalancing but pre-DLCs
DS2 SOTFS with all the DLCs

It's still the only game in the series where I was genuinely attracted to PvP due to how many different builds you could make and the non-linearity of it

Second half of DS1 is incomplete and mostly boring

DS3 is too linear and I will always dislike it for making you go through 85% of the game to finally finish your mage build
