We're heading towards an increasingly dark timeline. I don't really understand why Republicans are acting this way over things that should not matter to them in the slightest.

This is legit Nazi shit. They end up doing everything the so called "alarmists" say they'll do, and with increasing speed lately.

I'll be forced to regard anyone who doesn't recognize the threat and spouts "that's alarmist" as dangerously naive or willfully ignorant, if not actively malicious.

I seriously don't understand the whole "GOP is for the children" when every school shooting sees them turn a blind eye to dead children right in their own neighborhood.

They're Nazis, and Democrats, the DOJ, and us American citizens who aren't Nazis need to do something to stop these monsters before it's too late. Don't be surprised when the concentration camps start popping up.

Blame smartphones becoming affordable. It opened the floodgates for millions of uneducated and media-illiterate people blindly giving into misinformation campaigns because in their minds, if it's "on the computer" it has to be true.

The world would have been so much better off if smartphones remained business-oriented luxury items.

This kind of bullshit has routinely happened in human history, don't be a technophobe. If anything smartphones and world wide access to the internet has made it easier to prepare and fight this kind of bullshit because it can constantly be called out and fought against.

Yep. The fact that neolibs have allowed comservatives to openly espouse their bigotry and made up fantasies and treat it as open discussion is just... Or the fact that for years now, trans people have been saying "these bigots are coming for our rights and they'll come for you as well" and we were told we were overreacting or that we were pushing away allies, all the while neolibs were totally fine negotiating our rights away... There's more than a few laws I can think of that were like "yes, we're a democrat majority state but because the 30% Republicans in the state senate disagree with this provision ensuring trans people can't be fired for being trans, well, let's scrap that since its unpopular" when they didn't even have to negotiate. Giving conservatives all that stuff for free. Or Republicans trying to pass things like "bill to give a bunch of funding to all these corporations and a few hundred thousand for this think tank that is writing up policies to arrest women for murder if they miscarry and are found to have done anything that contributed to it, and also ban trans people from bathrooms" and democrats in state politics managed to get the think tank funding out that time around but let everything else pass without even saying anything. :/ Like. When you allow anyone to negotiate the rights of a group away, and especially one that isn't even represented in the negotiations? That's just fascism on both ends of the discussion.

It feels like nothing matters anymore? Just have a republican by your name and your all good. You can do whatever the hell you want. It makes me wonder why Democrats aren't running as republicans to try and change the game. Maybe that's insane.
