Thread for hidden gems closed but I stumbled upon the game I was asking about. Recently very happy with my experience on GameFAQs asking to help me find an old and obscure game, so repaying the favor a little bit here. Valley is like Bioshock had a baby with Bionicle promotional art, anticipating Elden Ring, with shades of Flower, and other things. I like this game. You play as a guy in a jumping robot leg suit who goes around reviving trees in an enchanting forest. Charming title, left an impression, seems relevant

Thinking about Prey, Elder Scrolls, etc. Idk. Is it (Valley) anticipating the way Elden Ring handles magical wildlife, and in what way? Etc. Games I was interested in around the time I played Valley include Deracine, Sekrio, Ark, and Conan. So I see a lot of that in there too, and it's interesting. Makes me want a new Portal. Those pogo boots, etc

Bump for evening CE

The game is worth playing for the jumping mechanic alone. Quality little piece, that one.

Well

Thinking about Prey, Elder Scrolls, etc. Idk. Is it (Valley) anticipating the way Elden Ring handles magical wildlife, and in what way? Etc. Games I was interested in around the time I played Valley include Deracine, Sekrio, Ark, and Conan. So I see a lot of that in there too, and it's interesting. Makes me want a new Portal. Those pogo boots, etc ;)

Also there's tons of games like this out right now, The First Tree and that other game you play as a fox in, Biomutant as well, Stray, Firewatch or whatever iirc. And bump for violent lite or non-violent/non-boring games
