That's why you use the knife to sort of pour the jelly on the bread from the jar.

One knife used for the peanut butter and to cut the sandwich into strips for ease of dunking. I'll also need one spoon for the jelly.

are you contaminating your pb jar with jelly or your jelly jar with PB?

You do the jelly first and then rinse the knife off. This isnt rocket science

What? You put jelly on bread. You rinse the knife. You dry the knife with your clean hand towel or a paper towel or just shake it off, who cares. You put peanut butter on bread. Whats the problem here

I use one. I spread the peanut butter, then scoop jelly out with a spoon (because I find a knife ineffective getting that stuff out), plop it on the sandwich and use the same knife to spread that.

Jelly first, get as much off on the bread that you can. Then quickly rinse the knife off and dry with a small piece of paper towel. Then PB.

What the fuck is this putting jelly directly on the bread nonsense. Jelly belongs on peanut butter, not on the bread. Without a layer to protect the bread, the jelly soaks in and gets gross.

It's not a replacement for the peanut butter. You just butter your bread before putting peanut butter and jelly on each piece. In fact it sounds like it would solve your issue of jelly soaking the bread by being a buffer layer.

How much jelly are you using on your sandwiches? At some point you're just being excessive.

I know it isnt a replacement. But the only people Ive known whod use both peanut butter and butter have been from over there.

Not much, too much jelly gets messy. But it isnt the quantity thats the issue. The issue is that bread can absorb jelly.
