idk what to do because my job is here and not remote. They may not have a position open to accommodate me and she is pretty hell bent on this idea.

she works remotely, its just cheaper to own a home out there than Austin. Its literally impossible to get one here unless you make an insane amount to throw cash down on. Plus rent is nearing ~$2300 for most places in the city. Have to move anyways by the end on January.

lol I keep telling her its better to rent outisde city limits and commute than move to a place that gets flooded once a year

I've never saw the appeal for Austin, I like Houston much better. I feel like the people that live in Austin have to be high on some drug or something to justify living there.

Houston traffic is the worst thing I've ever experienced. Even my friends who live there hate it. Fuck, go to the DFW area instead if you have to move.

Houston has bad traffic but at least it moves. Austin traffic is way worse and it is constantly backed up. I remembered I ubered back to my hotel after bar hopping on sixth street and we were stuck in traffic on I35 on Saturday at like 2am and the driver was like this is pretty normal here lol.

It really is. The i35 corridor is mess and they are talking about expanding it. So the construction from Round Rock through Austin should be expected.
