Someone screengrabbed an unfinished work on a stream and used AI to work on it and are now asking for a reference.

yeah i hate the AI shit going on for fake art. i may not be a good artist, but i do consider myself one all the same, and using the AI thing is like selling gfaqs. you've stripped the soul from your work

All this tech shit is ruining everything. Crypto currency with the energy consumption and graphics card hoarding, NFTs with art stealing and scams, metaverse with its shitty integration with everything, and now AI art, sucking all the soul out of drawings.

The ai art stuff is interesting and fun to mess around with but naturally dumb people are pushing it too far

its going to get worse though. In the end ai is going to either need to be highly regulated as to what its allowed to do or artistic integrity is going to be low on the problem list

Doesn't it go both ways? Too much legislation is restrictive. But to turn a blind eye is to put trust in human beings. And seeing the types of people on Twitter, Reddit ect, you really think that's a good idea?

Author credit is one thing, but I doubt y'all could the good AI art out from real works in blind trials.

I mean it's pretty impressive, if you wrangle it or bludgeon it. Though that said, I'd never try to claim it as my own, because the actual thing exists out there. It is however fun for personal use or experimenting with mashing things together.

I used just text to heavily steer it in a direction and got this without guideline. Thing is it's just stitched together from various other art work, but I still can't help but be impressed. This wasn't the NAI furry model, either, however it is the NAI anime model. And yes, the face is slightly distorted, because trying to refine it further makes it god awful.

This is exactly what I was afraid of.

I've been having fun with it and using it to actually make references for what I want or for something at a certain angle to get a general feel for something on my drawing

But I knew sooner or later this shit would happen.

There's already people with patreons taking requests for cash too and I feel the fool for never taking money for anything I've done when these people have made money typing sentences in a generator

I liked it better when AI art was all mangled prompts, not actually good enough for people to fake real art.

Like, still boggles my mind that, after all this time, people, people aware of modern times, people who use the internet regularly, still get up in arms like "we must STOP this burgeoning new technology!", as if that has ever been possible.

You don't stop tech once it's out to the public, because you cannot stop it. You adapt.

It's pretty easy to spot the glaring inconsistencies and when "geniuses" suddenly come out of nowhere or their skill suddenly increases tenfold into a different style

All of this AI art looks like shit. Tech bros are the worst.

Why he is in that position, I have no idea... but the AI decided it. It was by far the best of the group of pics I got, and the most clear.

I'm fine with using AI to help come up with ideas and stuff, but this really crosses border. Didn't some guy win an art contest from his AI work as well?
