Linkle is great, but she does not count.
She is neither a reincarnation nor a descendant of the hero's line, and literally exists at the same time as an actual chosen hero.

When people say "a female Link" they don't mean "a side/spinoff character during a game where Link already exists. They mean a woman chosen by the goddess to bear the Triforce of Courage and wield the Master Sword against the resurrected demon king.

Would the series do a Shadow Mario sorta thing where since Link's effeminate looking enough, a new villain disguises as a female version of him and uses it to move freely around Hyrule before trashing his reputation when he shows up?

I saw they let him dress up as a girl in BOTW so it doesn't seem that farfetched.
