Nintendo has some of the pretty damn anti-consumer practices and yet you still have millions play their games. I see everyone here shitting on OW2 and yet I also see a shit ton of people playing it and having a good time. At the end of the day, what most "gamers" care about is if the games they play are fun.... that's literally it

There's a significant difference between anti consumer practices and employee abuse.

Sure, but my point is blizzards reputation has a lot more to do with that than battle passes. The Nintendo comparison is apples to oranges.

Yes, I can hate the leadership and still like the product.

As someone who grew up playing the competitors to blizzard games (command and conquer over starcraft, torchlight over diablo, ect...) I never understood why people nutted all over themselves because of blizzard. They always seemed like a mediocre studio who somehow lucked into a rabid fanbase for reasons unknown to me.

I've played WoW, i've played Diablo, and all their big tentpole games. I don't understand what's so good about them.

I'm still saying people don't give a shit still, or else you would see a significant factor regarding their playerbase. I'm boycotting Blizzard games because of their employee abuse, but I have a friend who is a streamer who has been playing WoW (classic) and OW2. I private message telling him about the amount of shit Blizzard's culture is toxic and everything and he message back to me saying, "I'm playing WoW and OW2 because they're fun and I'm getting more views than ever streaming both of these games. Vs. when I was streaming LoL and Valorant. I honestly don't care.".

Curious what you're talking about. I did a quick search and all I can find was an article about one tester who complained when someone in a group meme chat posted the Vaporeon meme and only got assigned sexual harassment training from it.

It's the same reason I won't touch a game that has lootboxes/gatcha systems. I know my boycotting isn't going to hurt the company, but it's mostly down to my personal principle of supporting such crap.

Havent bought a Blizzard game in years.

Not that anything theyve released is worth buying to begin with.

Games i love were probably made by shitty people or companies.

There was a comment on this huge, massive r/HobbyDrama post about the history of WoW that summed it up: "It's funny how this started off talking about a guy who was so good at PvP that an entire server couldn't stand against him and ended with everyone deciding this company should be burned to the ground."

Nintendo of America was accused of being anti-union and taking advantage of contract workers by dangling permanent employment that was never going to come not too long ago.

But yeah most gamers don't actually care. CDPR was supposed to be a dead company after CP2077 and all it took was an anime to give that game a second life after an already humongous launch.
