Honestly, if it hadn't been a mobile game, I could have seen it doing well. Had it been given full support and turned into something other than basic BR for Mobile..

Ah well. Glad I didnt get into it despite wanting too, because of it being mobile.

Yeah, it's always weird when they try and make a spinoff game that has nothing in common with the game it's spawned from. I get wanting to branch out for new players, but isn't nostalgia supposed to be the main selling point?

Nah it had no chance. It was super not fun.

It convinced me that a FF7 themed shooter could work but not what they did. Something more like borderlands but set in FF7 would actually be kind of fun.

yep just checked it has loot boxes for things so prepare tos pend 100s of dollars to get ultimate weapon or have to grind for 10 years

Yes although it's not known how "P2W" it will be yet. Hopefully you can get through the story for free.

Oh no. You're out of the loop. There's no "grind for 10 years" anymore. You either pay up or you just don't get it. Anything that can be obtained for free can be obtained within a few weeks. If you can't get it in a few weeks, then it's premium only.

I've been playing the game. I feel like I have access to the full game, or at least a large part of it. I'm gradually unlocking heroes and understand that it takes 100 matches to unlock them all. There's some cosmetic stuff that seems to need to be paid for with some currency - I don't know if this earnable in-game or needs to be bought with real money - but I'm not really bothered with that.

That does seem pretty shitty. If it's caused by bad controls in the game then they should offer refunds.

Any time something like this happens companies issue everyone full refunds. They just don't do it on an individual basis. They patch the bug first and then send everyone affected the refund all at once.

The scam is that they took out characters from og overwatch and makes you either pay for them or play a ridiculous amount of games for them.

There are also issues with lag, wait times, and other such annoying shit.

There you pay 60 for the game and still have to grind (aka 'play the game') to unlock all of the characters. Then they sell additional characters as DLC - that can only be obtained by buying them - meaning you have to pay 120 to have every character in the game.

Where would you say that ranks as a scam next to Overwatch 2?

well first of all ultimate cant be taken away from you like overwatch 1 was

2nd while having to unlock characters in ultimate is annoying and stupid

I'm sorry, I missed that post.

Not refunding people there is obviously a scam. However, I do believe that people having to play or spend money for charaters they already had is also a scam.

League of Legends had a godawful grind back when runes were still a thing.

Start off with only free week characters

Champions cost a crazy amount to unlock.

You were actively weaker than level 30 players
because they had full runes and masteries while you missed out on a bunch of stats (Jungling was near impossible pre 30)

And when you finally did hit 30... you'd probably have enough to buy 1 page of the runes you needed. Maybe 2? Too bad you needed several more to cover all the roles.

Did I mention champions and runes were purchased with the same currency? So buying runes meant not buying another character and expanding your roster (Which you kind of need if you wanted to practice a character for more than a week before they got rotated out).

Of course this double grind was intended to encourage you to purchase champions with money instead. Hope the one you wanted goes on sale!

Avenge league match is 20-40 minutes btw.

And new players usually don't know how to quickly end a game.

I'm not entirely sure about that, but I also haven't played League in a very long time.

Unfortunately last I played League was full of players that felt harassment was justified for even the most minor slight, including telling people to off themselves.

So yeah. Arcane was good from what I've seen of it.
