With a gas car all you need to do is drain the oil, pull the sparkplugs and turn the car over a few times to evacuate the water from the cylinders, replace the spark plugs, refill the oil, and you're good to go. With a battery car, you're fucked. EDIT: And that's only if you can get tesla to sell you one. Generally tesla will refuse to work on flood damaged vehicles and will absolutely refuse to sell you parts. When I get there the guy says he's going to charge me millions in labor to install. I said we agreed on the phone that it was just the parts, I'm installing it myself. The guy got furious and said well I'm not going to give you the install manual then. If it wasn't for these cars already being around forever and having communities that showed me how to DIY and what the problem with my car was in the first place I would have been screwed.
