Its a very spooky film. I remember seeing it as a young child and so much of it was lost on me then, but I remember so vividly the scene where Clarice is in the dark, and it occurred to me that the bad guy could see when she couldnt and the thought of that was one of the most viscerally terrifying experiences in my life. I still ALWAYS get at least a flash of that feeling whenever I experience pitch black darkness.
