For those who have been following along.

Have a friend.
Preordered a PS5 for a friend.
Friend started talking shit about me and started saying I don't ever do anything for anyone and that I'm the most selfish person he's ever met.
He owed me $500.
I cancelled his PS5 preorder.
He threw a fit
Hasn't talked to me much since that
Has this girl
She's his dream girl
They had an on-again-off-again will-they-won't-they thing going for YEARS
This new years, they kissed and it seemed like it was finally happening
She's going through a rough time
He sends her a (pretty cringe) text telling her that he's there for her and wants her to move in with him until she gets things sorted out
She never responds
Ever again
Never speaks to him again
Within the month, she has a new boyfriend
Within two months, they're engaged
Today, they're married.

Really weird how things work out.

All I takeaway from this is the guy not only lost a PS5 pre order but also his girl and "friend". Guys had it rough it seems.

Your friend sounds like an entitled douche, and that girl sounds like she's impulsive and rushing through major decisions without proper thought.

Both sound like emotionally immature toxic individuals.

But I don't have much to go by other than what you said so my initial impression could be way off.

Technically, it says, Hasn't talked to me much since that. So, they may talk a little. That might be how he found out and out the text. Or possibly heard about it from someone else. For the girl, could have seen stuff on FB
