It just depends on the difference. If the difference between 20% and 30% isn't that big, I'll just give 30.

Depends

Can I bring it up to a nice 0 or 5 without it being less than 10% but not like a 30% tip? Then I do that

If not, I'll default to 10% unless it's higher end then 20%

I'm not cheap but I also don't want to give away money just because of an outdated social reason

The service personal here in Switzerland is paid a decent salary. Tips are welcomed, but not a necessity.

In bars or restaurants, I usually give them about 5% extra, depending on how good the service or food was.

When did the standard become 20%? Throughout my entire life I've always heard that 15% was the normal.

Feels like around the time they started printed recommended tips. 20% is the lowest recommended number
