Part of me wants to call BS on the claim just because Hallmark is all about churning out the most amount of content in the cheapest and quickest manner. I can't imagine a single hair/makeup artist making $144,000/yr doing what amounts to very low-stakes, low-effort projects.

Theyve probably got her doing the work of four people and she probably has some serious credentials. I didnt realize, until I discussed it with my hair stylist, that its apparently much more strict to get in that business than people think. Especially in the social media days where everyone posts pictures of everything, these salons want stylists that are practically artists.

Thanks for explaining it. I figured for Hallmark TV movies, there wouldn't theoretically be a demand for some insanely-skilled artist doing a lot of high-concept styling.

I mean you would also encounter problems as a movie makeup artist where you need to even out the skin tone of dozens of people so that everyone shows up on the film at an appropriate value.

144k is normal LA/nyc salary

hallmark movies arent nearly as "cheap" as u think. these are still their flagship and it's one of the biggest stations on tv. everyone knows hallmark, and more than cards it's those (christmas) movies

She also does various other movies but hallmark is the seasonal breadwinner.

She worked on homeland, the tv show.
Also worked on some western movie too

And no they dont do it from a studio. Its done on site most of the time. In trailers.
