I personally wouldn't consider Blackheart a Satan stand-in at all. He's the son of Mephisto, and effectively has similar abilities and traits that make him a Satan-type, but I definitely wouldn't call him Satan or the Devil.

To make it more confusing Marvel also has a real real Satan however! The Christian Satan.

I actually don't think Blackheart is actually Satan, IIRC. Pretty sure that role is occupied by Mephisto.

Haha oh wow. I just Googled this because clearly I was not up on my Marvel lore! Snake5s is absolutely correct that Blackheart is actually Mephisto's son. He's actually apparently an accumulation of evil from a specific area where a lot of bad stuff happened that Mephisto gave life to. I knew he wasn't really "satan" but I didn't know the specifics.

And also, yeah, Mephisto technically isn't satan either. He looks and acts like him though, so I think he at least qualifies for the purposes of this contest. But he's some sort of cosmic entity that tends to let people think he is satan, even though he isn't. Another thing I didn't know, since a lot of the stories I read with him in it lean pretty hard into the whole satan concept.

Yeah Mephisto is functionally enough of Satan to qualify. Only someone that evil could make One More Day happen!

yeah Mephisto is pretty fair. Maybe I should've disqualified Blackheart but I didn't look into it all that closely tbh
