Didn't have a "prepared to hang on for dear life" grip on lil grem, and I was still new papa so my instinct hadn't shifted from "try to balance myself with my arms" to "secure the package". Boy bonked his head HARD on the ice and at that age it could have been a lot worse than it was. Thankfully he was only bruised up by it, no concussion and internal damage. skulls is thick. Man though, the folks at the ER were giving me the fuckin evil eye. Felt like an interrogation the way they kept asking us to repeat what happened. She kept opening and shutting her mouth as the nickel bounced off. The third time it went in and she swallowed it. It's like she was choking trying to get it down then started crying and ran off. She went to the hospital and our teacher confronted me before the entire class, saying I should feel ashamed and she better be ok. I mean she really laid me out.
