Tournament arcs are basically just the laziest writing imaginable and drag the plot to an absolute crawl. Ill always give the original Dragon Ball show a pass, as Toriyama basically invented that trope and it actually served the low stakes of the early series in a decently charming way, but holy shit has it been overplayed and trite in every circumstance since then in every series, especially including YYH, aka tournament arc the anime. DBS wouldve been infinitely better with even a cliched as hell story introducing the universe seven crew to the other universes full of names I didnt bother to remember. --- Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less. ... Didn't the first ToP have Goku's universe knock out most of the competitors? I feel like that's kinda boring, one of the points of a ton of characters is to see a bunch of different things interact with each other. No more tournaments please. And I'm anime only, so I've only heard of most of those forms, not seen them in action. I had to google the guy behind Uub.
