No as Murder She Wrote doesn't waste time on needless personal details and try to shoe horn in romance plots between the main characters

The last couple of seasons when they knew they were getting canceled sooner rather than later are great fun as they didnt give a fuck and just did some insane episodes.

Yeah, this is very procedural,(right word?). It's pretty much just single episodes. There is no overarching story line. At least so far in what I've watched, season 2

It definitely is.. there's a few two episode stories but most are single. There are also a few episodes where Jessica solves the mystery but by doing so makes things worse, always loved that they'd go there once in a while.

Castle worked with the police. Mrs Fletcher just rocked up, told the cops they sucked, and solved the crime for them.

Columbo is pretty great, as mentioned.

Murder, she wrote was always pretty good. No BS extra storylines, you can just drop into one episode in the middle of whatever season.

Same. First episode I watched blew my mind as a kid... The victim was a pianist and the killer rigged some device to shoot the victim with a gun that had been concealed in some box-like thing, all of which was triggered by a specific combination of tones that the victim inadvertently triggered by playing a piece of music the killer had left for him.

I remember that one! Some of the "methods" were really creative, but when Jessica (or the protagonist) explains it, all the little inconsistencies add up like the one where a pianist intentionally burned his hands so he would look incapable of firing a gun when he later killed his wife

There was also one where some dude was framed by himself... he was first on the scene holding the gun and standing over the body and was like "I didn't do this!" but it turned out he had shot the victim earlier, then framed himself knowing he'd be able to prove he was framed. Jessica figured out the gun had blanks when the gunshots that got him "caught" were heard so he framed himself for a murder he had already committed, under the assumption the frame-job evidence would hold up. That was another excellent twist.

One thing I learned that helped me get good at figuring things out faster than Jessica >_> was pay attention to anomalous camera work. In one episode, I knew who the killer was before the murder even happened because the camera randomly zoomed in an a seemingly normal and mundane object that ended up being the murder weapon. I was like "that's weird. The only reason the show would do that is if that thing ends up being the murder weapon and the person in possession of it is the killer." Sure enough, that was exactly right.

You can't stop watching because you saw that topic 2 weeks ago saying something like "$1 million but you have to watch the entire series of Murder, She Wrote but it's in French with subs" and the 4th post said "I don't have enough tissue for that" because masturbation jokes are funny and also because Murder, She Wrote IS an incredibly sexy series.
