I did a few weeks back. Granted I was using mods to make playing as a mage actually fun and interesting. And I only did the main quest, College questline and Daedric quests.

my first playthrough i played as a mage. mage sucks so bad in the game tho since enemies are bullet sponges to the spells. probably a mod fixes this problem but im too lazy to set them up atm.

but yeah next playthrough i played as stealth dagger + bow. OP af

Hopefully whenever they do decide to come out with a new game they'll finally make magic not suck. Yeah there has always been some level of OP spells prior to Skyrim, such as Levitate and Chameleon, but they are always support in nature to making an overpowered fighter and not really someone who uses spells for accomplishing stuff. It's a sad state of affairs when you have to use mods that explicitly make spells overpowered just to have the ability to have a relevant fireball.

If you ever get around to a modded playthrough, try Apocalypse along with Ordinator.
Apocalypse is an amazing spellpack. Each time I find myself thinking "Man, there really needs to be a spell that does this" I end up finding it a few hours later. Things like walking on water, faster swimming, creating temp objects like bridges and crafting stations, storing spells in a hand to be fired along with another spell,... All that and an absolute ton of awesome destruction spells.
