In GTA 3 Infernus was the last fast car that you would only find in the final area, rarely in the 2nd. It was so cool because it was rare and that glossy finish and the spoiler because spoilers to cars are like capes to superheroes.

But then Vice City came out and Infernus design was completely different. That's fine, it was the 80s. But then the same thing happened in San Andreas. And it seems like moving forward, they completely revamped the Infernus design for the new GTAs and the way it looked in GTA 3 is no longer the look of the car

I love the look of it in GTA 5, though. It kinda drives like shit but I love it.

I like San Andreas's. SA also has a sort of progression where there aren't as many sporty cars in Los Santos than the latter 2 islands. It is possible to find an Infernus in the beginning still but it's fairly rare.

The redesign removed the spoiler and has this weird circular central exhaust

The Banshee has never looked or sounded as good as it did in GTA3.

the design of the infernus is primarily based on the v12 lamborghini from the era the game is set during. the odd one out is the infernus from SA, which is a honda NSX

it takes some design cues from it, but the game code calls it a "Dyablo". Even when they brought it back for GTA online as the infernus classic, it was a diablo

Ah the banshee... that's a whole other story. It was still pretty good in San Andreas especially with all the modding options, but GTA 3 was something special.

As the first sports car in the first area in the very beginning of the game, I'm pretty sure it was a ton of gamers first fast car, especially if like us they never really made it that far in the game initially and just messed around in the first area. Finding that banshee in the dealership window was everyone's first "oh check it out!" moment
