I don't really get involved in the drama too much. I just try to stay chill as much as possible.

We got a lot of Fragile Freddys and Sensitive Susans that love to get butthurt over every little thing. This makes them lash out against everyone.

anyone who is always negative and toxic and complaining should be blocked. if someone is never contributing anything useful after you've checked two or three times, I say block them.

this is also true of accounts that are overly political, and especially the ones that are hyper partisan. filter out any dishonesty and any negativity for your own mental health's sake.

From what I've been seeing, most of the hostile people are known and they have a bad rep and they get modded a lot or they just stopped coming here.

tbh i think the hostility is the same as ever. this forum was never anything but people rushing into a topic to either attempt to land a one-line zinger or just play devil's advocate against the TC for shits and giggles, while also getting weirdly intense about it? every time i interact with regular users from here in private it quickly becomes apparent that their level of experience socially is even lower than i would have guessed and it temporarily puts everything into perspective, until i fall back into the incorrect assumption that most people here are fairly normal and just attached to a mostly dead website. the reality is a lot worse than that and i should probably take a more whimsical approach to dealing with it rather than trying to constantly clap back against the onslaught of their bullshit but alas.

the weenie hut jr's episode of spongebob is basically the perfect microcosm of CE
