@dolomedes

I'm trying to not be bothered by spiders mostly based on your posts. It's been eating the stinkbugs and the horrible invasive lanternflies.

I'm around Pittsburgh. We watch it wrap up bugs and we've even seen its Lil teeth.

would still wait for dolomedes to know for sure, but I think that might be a type of orb weaver? Not certain though.

That's what my wife said. I thought maybe there was a more specific answer. Either way, thanks my friends.

There is. Dolomedes will give you the actual name and even Latin scientific name once he gets the notification. I've never seen him not identify a spider that specifically :P

Yeah, I'd say it's probably about 50 feet across. Just hovers above the trees making a strange electronic humming noise and absorbing the deer from my back yard. It's wild.

Weird, 'blurry mantis head' was my nickname in elementary school.

I love that every year there is just an influx of people finding out about Orb Weavers for the first time.

Mainly because I too was surprised when I first saw them only to learn they were incredibly common >_>
